Hello and welcome to Dramante’s third product insight! In this edition (03) we will take a closer look at the Belvedere Laolu Senbenjo Edition which is available on our website!
Belvedere
Belvedere, the first super-premium vodka, represents 600 years of Polish Vodka-making tradition. Made from rye and purified water, Belvedere contains zero additives so is as pure as it can get. This soft and inviting spirit is elegant with hints of almond, vanilla, and white pepper followed by a smooth velvety finish.
Laolu Senbenjo Edition
Created exclusively from Polish Dankowskie Rye and quadruple-distilled to create the perfect balance of character and purity. Belvedere Vodka partnered with Laolu Senbanjo, a Brooklyn-based Nigerian-born performance and visual artist to create the 2018 limited-edition bottle. The bottle supports (RED) and the Global Fund to fight HIV/AIDS in Africa, a mission the brand has supported for 8 years.
Laolu Senbanjo revisited the design of the Belvedere Vodka bottle, applying a texture that reacts to UV lights and drawing on “Afrosymetrics” design to express the pristine water and Polska rye used to make the vodka. This brilliant edition includes aromas of vanilla with soft cream. The palate contains some vanilla swaying between sweet and savoury with a hint of white pepper and spice, finishing with notes of almond and brazilian nuts.
How to drink Belvedere
There are as many different cocktails that vodka can be enjoyed with such as:
- Vodka Martini
- The Old Fashioned
- Vodka Sour
- Cosmopolitan
- Espresso Martini
- Bloody Mary
However this doesn’t mean it can’t be enjoyed with a mixer such as lemonade, coke or neat.
What food to eat with Vodka
Pairing spirits like vodka with food and getting the combination perfect is almost an art form. It’s far trickier to pair vodka with food than the usual suspects due to its high alcohol content and incredibly strong flavour profile. However, many agree that vodka is best when accompanied with fish whether this be our famous british fish and chips or salmon with potatoes and veg.
Belvedere distillery
The distillery is one of the world’s longest continuously operating facilities, making vodka since 1910 thus being the oldest vodka producing distillery in the world. Small and intimate, the distillery delivers Belvedere’s signature consistent quality and has been recognized by the European Commission for its aggressive sustainability agenda, having reduced CO2 emissions by 42% since 2012.
Belvedere vodka is made using only locally sourced grain, mostly grown by farmer distillers. Previously state owned, these now family-owned farms grow and harvest the rye, then ferment and distil it to produce raw alcohol which is sent by tanker to Polmos Zyrardow where it is rectified to the quality required to make Belvedere Vodka.
