Product Description
Lagavulin double-matured in ex-bodega Pedro Ximenez cask wood for an intense, raisiny sweetness that marries beautifully with the smoky power of the regular release to create a massive, rich tasting power-house of a malt. Part of the 2021 Distillers Edition range. The windswept Isle of Islay instils a strength of character into everything it produces and it's here, nestled in a small bay that the beloved Lagavulin whisky has been made for over 200 years.
Highlights
-
Peated malt, slow distillation and long maturation together ensure Lagavulin develops a complex, rich, peaty character. Lagavulin is a spirit which likes to take its time. The definitive Islay malt intensely flavoured, smoky and rich.
- The distillers edition is a collection of master-craftsmanship. Each cask in the series is individually selected and perfectly matched to the character of each of the single malts refined here.
- The two-parted maturation process gives more depth and complexity, which is the idea behind the limited distillers edition: preserving the perfection of the single malts that have already been awarded for their outstanding flavours.
- The selected taste nuances are more strongly accentuated in a way that is not found in the regular bottlings, but with fully maintaining the original character of these fine single malts.
- Islay region.
- Limited edition release.
- 70cl bottle size.
- 43% ABV.
