Mount Gay Silver is a blend of pot and column distilled rums aged in American oak barrels for a minimum of 2 years and then filtered to create a white rum. As per the regulations of rum production in Barbados, there is no sugar added.
Highlights
- Dating back to at least 1703, the Mount Gay estate is the world's oldest surviving commercial rum distillery.
- It is named after Sir John Gay Alleyne, who managed the estate in the 18th Century on behalf of its owner, John Sober.
- Sir John was so successful at managing the estate, and such a respected figure in Barbados society, that the distillery was renamed Mount Gay after his death in 1801.
- Mount Gay is now owned by French spirits group Rémy Cointreau.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Citrus, floral, grapefruit and butterscotch.
Palate: Ripe fruit, toffee, cane and butterscotch.
